In addition to 911 you should also be aware of the non-emergency phone number which can be used to dispatch officers for situations which don’t call for red & blue lights. It is 248-1777. You should be aware that with the centralized dispatch program now in use, your call is routed to Volusia County and not our local station house. Nevertheless, the responder will most likely by an Ormond Beach officer, just as in the old days.
If you didn’t make it to the Meet & Greet on the Eve of Poisson d’Avril, you missed an excellent presentation by Officers Cornelius and Stokes of the Ormond Beach Police. Officer Cornelius informed us that he and Officer Stokes both provide a wide range of ancillary services in addition to their beat work. Following is a list of some of those activities:
